What are they? It’s a service to update different search engines that YOUR blog has been updated! If you are using the Thesis WordPress theme, or a premium theme with SEO plugins, this may not be necessary.
It’s very easy to do. If you need some direction, follow the simple steps below.
1. Enter the name of your blog
2. Enter your URL (web address)
3. Select the options/categories you want to notify
4. “Send Pings” or “Go Pingoat” (This can take a few seconds as they update what you’ve selected.)
Now it goes out to notify all these services that you’ve made a new blog post.
That’s it! Free. Simple. Effective.
