Internet Marketing is an incredibly broad category, and takes on many forms. 

For those of you that are new, and wondering what it means, here’s a quick overview.  In short, it means that you market on the Internet.  Market what?   Products or services.

Some people market “Internet Marketing” itself via courses, ebooks, PLR (Private Label Products) sites, membership sites, etc.   Yes, there’s a lot of this out there and it’s needed in many respects.  It’s a changing field due to the nature of the Internet, so make sure you connect and learn from someone who has experience, success and current projects in the pipeline.

For others, Internet Marketing is a vehicle through which to market something else.  Maybe a blog, or a blog with the intent of monetizing your Niche with affiliate products, adsense, Amazon, Clickbank, Squidoo, etc.

Some market a Niche using a website or blog to market their own product(s) within their niche, or even an ecommerce store with drop shipping options.  Crowd Mountain, or One Week Marketing  both have great programs for learning Niche Marketing, and Crowd Mountain will be covering some aspects of ecommerce.

Affiliate marketing is also huge right now.  You can teach affiliate marketing, or create a site or mini-site that’s dedicated to affiliate products, or even create a membership site or forum dedicated to affiliate marketing.   There are even affiliate marketing programs that provide you with a website and “mall”, and then they teach you how to market it on the Internet.

Membership sites and Associations are a category all their own.  What’s your passion?  Do many people share that same interest and passion?  If so, and if you have knowledge to share, a membership site may be just right for you.  There are some great membership programs out there to teach you exactly how to do this.

Another area is teaching people how to use Google Adwords/PPC, Google Adsense and SEO techniques. 

Sometimes it seems the list is endless.

I vary from some in that I don’t believe in “faking it till you make it”, or creating a product or info product to sell when I don’t have the experience or background to make it a product that will truly move people forward in that area.  

I’m here to share what I’m learning and experiencing.  My goal is to point and connect people to resources that can make a difference for them in their Internet related business – because they’ve made a difference in mine. 

I hope this overview has helped you.  This is not an exhaustive list, and I am not the most experienced person out there in this field by a long shot.  What I am is honest.  I sincerely want to make a difference, and help people along the way.  It’s my hope that what I’m learning and gathering as I go through this journey will make a difference for you, as well.
